(Muhammad) 47 : 22
فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ
Then, if you were given authority, would you cause corruption in the land and sever your blood relations?
This verse warns that Hypocrites remain submissive until they gain authority, but once they obtain it, they rush to corruption, bloodshed, and cutting family ties. See explanation 2:30, 204–206; and 9:8–10.
